Iconic Zone d'Erotica in Galleria area to be replaced with Velvet Taco
Zone d’Erotica has shuttered, Velvet Taco to take its place - Houston Chronicle
S pace City is losing its naughtiest landmark, and Houstonians are sure to feel a little less frisky. One had to wonder how the haven of all things hanky panky stayed in business. But it was a daily vision for folks driving past on the freeway on their way to work, on their way to shop, and more. For some, it was an eyesore, a source of embarrassment, sticking out like a sex-positive sore thumb. The building on a 10,square-foot lot off always stood out, and not just for its XXX theme. The vibrant purple-and-pink marquee, with a heart winking out in the space of an apostrophe, was just impossible to miss.
Alura. Age: 28. Little tigress is waiting for her cat! Worthy rest for worthy men! I am your little depraved dream! I love having fun myself and delivering pleasure.
Zone d’Erotica has shuttered, Velvet Taco to take its place
The Zone d'Erotica opened years ago, selling lingerie and other adult products along the West Loop near Westheimer Road. The Harris County Clerk's Office said the property was sold but hasn't announced the name of the buyer. Clay Dover, president of Velvet Taco , said the property will be the spot for the restaurant's fourth Houston location. The location was previously a smoke shop, and before that, it was a Luke's Hamburger Restaurant for years. A large fire nearly gutted the building in the early s.
Velvet Taco already has two locations in Houston — one on Washington Avenue and the other on Westheimer Road in Montrose — and plans to open another at N. This story is courtesy of our partners at KHOU The building has been emptied and vandals have clearly had their way with the place. We did chance upon one man who was disappointed to see it closed down, as he was looking to buy something for his wife and himself. For many Houstonians, this building brings back memories of a place where you could get great food.
